Battle.Net

I just finished watching the new video on the Starcraft 2 website about their plans for a revamped Battle.Net. The features all sound like good ideas but it's strange to watch Blizzard talk about what Battle.Net was like when the original Starcraft came out and why you should be excited about the new and improved version. It's a bit like hitting on a girl you dated in middle school like 15 years ago.

"When we first dated, I was an amazing boyfriend, don't get me wrong. But I'm so much better now. I have all these new features you'll love, like a car, a job, an education, a fully grown penis, and a haircut my parents had nothing to do with. I'm much better than Steam."

They never come out and say who they're competing with, but it's obvious Blizzard would like to develop a service comparable to Steam for their games. Whatever, I hope Battle.Net outdoes Steam in every way. I'll be buying Starcraft 2 either way.
